Dear Vaurien sailors and friends

Get ready for the ultimate sailing event of this year.

The Netherlands host the 2003 World Championship Splash & Vaurien
and the Eurocup Flash.

Hereby we will invite you for the 2003 World Championship Vaurien
during 19 till 26 July on the waters of the IJsselmeer, 3.5 mile South East of
the Marina Stavoren. The 2003 World Championship Vaurien will be a
combined championship with the 2003 World Championship Splash and Eurocup
Flash.

Since May 2002 when the Dutch Vaurien Class Association and the Dutch
Splash Flash Class Association decided to organize a combined championship
for the three classes, it

is our challenge to realize an event that offers
spectacular competitions and promote the Non-Olympic sailing.

Coming together from different continents the international sailors,
coaches and interested persons can expect an exciting competition and enjoy
the social events. The beauty of the IJsselmeer covered with sails during
the days of the competition will leave an unforgettable impression.

The preparations for such an event are not easy. But the great
infrastructure of the Marina Stavoren, the expertise of the Royal
Yachtclub Sneek and the Yachtclub Workum, the support of sponsors and the
enthusiasm of lots of volunteers, brings together the best organizing conditions
for this event. It will be hard work during the next months to get ready
for this ultimate sailing event, but we already look forward to see you
all enjoying the sailing and social events.
